    Confusing Installation

Posted by Stacey on 16th Sep 2014

The shelf itself is as pictured and seems to be of high quality. What was incredibly frustrating was the level of difficulty necessary for installing the shelf. I expected it to be like most wall shelves where there are either pre-drilled holes to set on anchored screws into the wall, or some sort of a brace anchored to the back of the shelf and the wall. It was not that easy - not even close. I pretty much ruined a $135 shelf, and I have fairly considerable hardware/installation experience.

**SAWDUST CITY REPLY** We are thrilled you were satisfied with the look and quality of your shelf. We apologize for any confusion there was in hanging it. Because stud placement and wall types vary so greatly, we reserve pre-drilling holes in our pieces. This allows customers to determine the exact placement of their shelf and a strong hold by drilling a hole that will meet a stud. Once this is done, the matching painted plugs are designed to fill the hole so no screw heads are seen or screw holes. Please feel free to call if you need further assistance in hanging your shelf.
